Taeanhaean (Central Western region)

Taeanhaean National Park is located in the mid-west of the Korean Peninsula, diverging from Gayasan-maek (mountain range) in the west and creating beautiful scenery. It has about 130 islands including Taeanbando and Anmyeondo. This park, designated as a national park in 1978, covers 327§´, and having the characteristic rias coast. Coastal flora, tidal flats and sand make a unique landscape. This Nation Park has 30 beautiful beaches such as Mongsanpo, Yeonpo, and Hakgampo. Since they are not far from cities, many visitors come here to enjoy themselves. Especially, Mallipo beach is considered as one of the three most beautiful beaches in Korea, creating beautiful white sand about 3km long. The place is also important in terms of botanic side because 250 species of flora grows there.
