Today, you will explore Route 8. This scenic trail stretches along the seashore. You will encounter with Columnar Joint, about 30-40m high and the largest of its kind in Korea. They are imposing stone pillars stretching overall 1km, shaped like cubes or hexagons of various sizes and almost seem as if stone masons had carved them out. Pillar-shaped columnar joint is a vertical joint shown mostly in basalt lava flows. You will stop off at Cheonjeyeon waterfalls. Over the deep valley is an arch bridge Seonimkyo or the bridge of Seven Fairies on which seven angels are engraved. The trails offers the sight of the abundant eulalia making your tour even more enjoyable. There is a marine corps trail which was made of numerous rocks on the coastline, so the most accessible, but the path can be wet and slippery. This narrow pathway once used only by local divers, was restored and opened to the public. The terminus of the route, Daepyeong port, sits on the end of a valley and the open fields run towards the sea.
