Soesokkak - Oedolgae

Begin your walking at Soesoggak
. The trail is locally named as Olle Route 6. Soesoggak means the pool that cows drink from. The estuary begins quite narrowly and widens at is it reaches the ocean. Here he fresh water mingle with the sea water providing the perfect place to bathe, close to the black sand beach but in water that is cool, crisp and fresh from the mountain. As you walk down the trail, enjoy a stretch of lush groves of camphor trees and camellias and admire the open ocean and soak in the salty breeze. The main attraction of Soesoggak has, more recently, become Jeju¡¯s traditional raft boat, the Taewoo, providing another way to appreciate Soesoggak¡¯s calm and tranquil nature. It is a trail of culture and ecology. The trekking features a stunning view of coastlines, forests, salt field, fishing ports, several villages along the shore, Lee Jungseop's fine art gallery, crater and Oedolgae needle rock. Over 5m high Sojeongbang waterfall welcomes locals looking for a refreshing way to cool off in the summer. Jeongbang waterfall plunges from a cliff directly into the ocean. You may want to try Swindari, a tangy, fizzy concoction that is a tribute to resourcefulness and thriftiness. It is made of spoiled rice. Instead of being thrown away, the rice is rinsed and mixed with an ingredient called Nuruk, which starts the fermentation process. This route is popular for trekkers as it is relatively easy and scenery is gorgeous.
